Prokaryotes harbor intricate immune systems that stand as the guardians of their genetic sanctity against the constant assault of phages and other mobile genetic elements. Among these immune systems, CRISPR-Cas is revolutionizing molecular biology and therapeutic science. This project aims to decode prokaryote adaptive immunity systems, to harness their potential for therapeutic innovation.
By decoding these systems, the project aims to pave the way for innovative therapeutic strategies that harness the natural prowess of microbial immunity. The successful repurposing of these immune systems could lead to breakthroughs in gene therapy, precision medicine, and antimicrobial resistance, ultimately contributing to the advancement of human health and biotechnology.
