JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department is currently seeking a part-time research assistant to collaborate with Dr. Gregory Broussard on experiments related to vibriophage. This opportunity is linked to the Course-based Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) courses BMB 205S, BMB 210, and BMB 294 and is integral to conducting final experiments to publish the research conducted in these courses and fulfill our teaching mission in the CURE courses.

Experience working with strains of Vibrio harveyi and the bacteriophage that infect this bacteria is required.

Responsibilities will include:

  • growing and maintaining bacterial cultures
  • conducting experiments
  • writing scientific articles based on performed experiments for publication.

The hourly pay rate is $10.00 for a total of 100 hours of work.
