PHIOGEN seeks a highly motivated and dedicated Associate Scientist (in vivo) focused on animal model work to join a dynamic team of scientists. PHIOGEN is developing natural and evolved bacterial viruses (bacteriophages) to treat multi-antibiotic-resistant and recurrent bacterial infections.
candidate should have a strong background in microbiology, immunology, and handling research animals, possess excellent analytical and technical skills, and pay meticulous attention to detail, playing a crucial part in conducting experiments involving laboratory animals.
Job Specific Competencies
Proficient in most current laboratory procedures, including the following: animal models, cell/tissue culture methods, RNA and DNA extraction, PCR, RT-PCR, mouse experiments, and drug treatment, among others.
· Collect, analyze, and document experimental data while also developing and adapting research techniques to obtain desired results.
· Perform molecular work related to bacteriology and phage research.
Data Analysis and Reports
· Maintain a detailed electronic lab notebook with electronic notes (i.e. LabArchives) and provide a thorough report verbally at weekly group meetings. These reports will include interpretation of the results, rationale for improvements in established experimental methods, and plans for improvements in experimental design.
· Consolidate experimental results and insights into PowerPoint templates to support clear, visual data presentation and team discussion.
